We can offer up to 50 heritage breed roosters for FREE to get you started. Breeds will vary but all breeds will be considered dual purpose standard breeds. We have respect for both those that dedicate their lives on a plant based diet and those that consume meat. While we will not offer any of the pet quality roosters from the Gentlemen’s Club for consumption, we do raise our own heritage roosters to give responsible meat eaters the ability to choose roosters raised God’s way versus the plastic wrapped counter part in the grocery store. The main reason to harvest your own bird is to by pass the cruelty. It should be an emotional difficult connection to the animal that gives it’s life so that we can live. We believe in giving animals a nice natural life on our homestead. Families can choose to complete the life cycle by humanely harvesting food for their family rather than funding factory farms. We should all be thankful and appreciate where our food comes from. Our birds are raised as free a life as possible while still protecting them from predators. Baby chicks are kept in a brooder with free choice organic chick cereal. Once fully feathered, they are able to free range, eat organic sprouts such oat groats, red winter wheat, flax seed, sunflower seeds, millet, barley, vegetables, fruits, and milk, Since they are not overcrowded and fed properly ,no antibiotics are necessary. All roosters are live and must be humanely transported in a kennel.
 
About the Multi-purpose Scalder:
Huge main aluminum pot with pour spout has a 42 quart capacity (10.5 gallons),  Steam, boil, and fry basket with handle, steam rack, 28,500 BTU burner, fully adjustable propane dial, thermometer, lid, hose and regulator to connect to standard propane tanks.
 
Works great for scalding  at 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Ideal for dipping birds to loosen feathers prior to plucking. The trick to a good plucking is a thorough, accurate scald until the primary wing feather can be pulled with no effort. This unit works great when you have chickens, quail, game birds, ducks, turkeys or geese to process, and with a 42 quart capacity you can fit two large chickens at a time with ease.
 
After processing,  add clean water and heat up to 185 degrees sealing and shrinking poultry shrink bags at 185. Steam rack and basket are great for steaming large amounts of vegetables. Huge pot is great for frying chickens and turkey's, and the pour spout makes it easy to return your cooking oil back into the jug when you are finished. When you have a pot this large it is a breeze to feed large amounts of people when using this to boil and cook large amounts of food. From corn to chicken to jambalaya this massive 42 quart pot will cook mass amount of just about anything. And with a fully adjustable propane dial getting it the correct temperature and cooking it to perfection is a breeze.

About the Plucker: 
Simply grab a garden hose, turn on the plucker, add a bird, spray water into the drum, and a few seconds later you will have a perfectly plucked bird, ready for further processing. Piable large plucker fingers will pluck feathers fast. Great for plucking Chickens,  Turkey, Guinea Fowl, Quail, and game birds.
